Best Weapons

Early-game weapons

Bows let you attack safely from range

Bows are the early pick: attack safely from range while drawing aggro so your Pals can hit freely. The stronger Crossbow also uses arrows, so you can switch over smoothly once it unlocks around Lv13.

Keep a melee weapon too

Arrows are hard to mass-produce early, so save them by finishing weak enemies with a melee weapon. The spear's longer reach makes it the safest melee pick.

Mid-game weapons

Switch from bows to guns

Mid-game unlocks gun technology, and mining metal ore at your base keeps ammo materials plentiful. The Handgun (Lv28) has a high rate of fire and is easy to use, making it a great main weapon until the Assault Rifle unlocks.

Late-game weapons

Rifles and Gatling-type guns shine

In the late game you can mass-produce ammo, so rapid-fire rifles and Gatling-type guns are ideal. Make the Assault Rifle (whose ammo you can buy from merchants) your main, then upgrade to stronger weapons as you level.

Keep a launcher on hand

For high-difficulty content like the Oil Rig and hard-mode tower bosses, area damage matters, so craft a blast-damage launcher too.
