The surname “Kai” always drew excessive attention to her as the daughter of Senki City's lord. To conceal her identity, she began traveling the jianghu under the name “Han Youyou,” taken from “Kantou Kakuei,” the first concealed mechanism weapon she successfully developed.
Training Depends on You
Han Youyou was instructed in poetry, classical texts, rites, and music from an early age. As she grew older, however, she could no longer bear it and stopped faithfully following those “teachings.” Meanwhile, no one needed to teach her all manner of pranks; she mastered those on her own...
A Secret Passage? It's Underground!
Neither a vast estate nor strict family rules could confine Han Youyou, who is both “good with her hands” and “a lover of freedom.” Beneath a cleverly disguised mechanical trapdoor lies a secret passage leading outside the city.
Mechanisms Are Not Heartless
In Han Youyou's view, everything in the world falls into two categories: things that move, and things that will move after a little work. “If it can move, that means it's alive! Right, Kyuu-chan?” After fitting a biting mechanism to the estate's treasure chest, an excited Han Youyou gave it a name.
Wood into Iron, Glue into Welding
Han Youyou once designed labor-assistance mechanisms to help with work. Their output was too strong to control, however, and some inexplicably exploded during use. With great reluctance, she recalled them and rebuilt them into the armed exploration models she knows best.
