Raw Timber Before Polishing
After long training, Katal became able to lift her enormous shield with both hands as though it weighed nothing. Still, she never stops practicing. Once she becomes strong enough to hold one shield in each hand, she will surely feel even safer!
A Harmless Lie
The guardians of Charlulu Village tell children, “Mitama-sama is always listening,” so they must not lie. Yet Katal once lied to conceal that Terara had not eaten her vegetables. Unable to bear her guilty conscience, she later spent some time confessing before the statue of the Great Wolf.
Following Her Ancestors
Her great-grandfather defeated a Kingraga, her great-grandmother fought a Spitehorn to a draw, and her grandfather once challenged five Schnellf with nothing but his own body... Yet Katal is startled when an Ignip merely runs up to her. She still cannot stop moving forward if she is to become as strong as her family.
Special Treatment
Katal believes the Aura of her clan's ancestors dwell in wooden carvings. She therefore reports every important event to them. However, not every carving receives the same treatment. For example, only her grandmother's carving knows that “I can't stop thinking about the Starborn who recently came to the village.”
Swelling Like Cotton
Mind and body grow with time, and worries swell softly like cotton. Katal's recent concern is that she is growing too well... As she shoots upward, her body no longer fits behind the great shield, leaving her tail and horns sticking out.
