Here are the gacha rates and pity for every banner in Monster Hunter Outlanders: the featured banner, the Buddy banner, the standard banner, and the starter banner. We cover the SSR rate, how many pulls guarantee an SSR or the featured adventurer, how the 50/50 works, and whether pity carries over to the next banner. Summons in this game are called recruitment.

These figures were confirmed during the closed beta test. Rates and pity may differ in the released game, so check the official rates shown on each banner in the game before you pull.

Pity by Banner

BannerPity
Featured bannerSSR guaranteed within 90 pulls, with a 50% chance it's the featured adventurer. If it isn't, your next SSR is. The featured adventurer is also guaranteed at 120 pulls (once per banner).
Buddy bannerNot confirmed during the beta
Standard bannerSSR adventurer or Buddy guaranteed within 90 pulls. At 300 pulls in total, you can pick one standard SSR (once only).
Starter bannerStandard SSR guaranteed within 50 pulls. You can only pull 50 times, and a 10-pull costs 8 Standard Contracts.

Featured Banner: SSR at 90, Featured Adventurer at 120

On the featured banner, you're guaranteed an SSR adventurer within 90 pulls. Each SSR has a 50% chance to be the featured adventurer. If your SSR isn't the featured one, your next SSR is guaranteed to be. The 90-pull count carries over from one featured banner to the next.

If you still don't have the featured adventurer by pull 120, the 120th pull gives it to you. This 120-pull guarantee works only once per banner, and its count doesn't carry over to other featured banners.

The number of pulls left until SSR pity is shown at the bottom right of the banner screen. Your 50/50 history and the 120-pull count aren't shown there, so open the rules from the top right of the banner and check your recruitment history.

Buddy Banner

Pity on the Buddy banner couldn't be confirmed during the beta. Check the rates and rules shown on the banner in the game before you pull.

Standard Banner: SSR at 90, Pick One at 300

The standard banner guarantees an SSR within 90 pulls. Both adventurers and Buddies can drop, but if your last two SSRs were both Buddies, your next SSR is guaranteed to be an adventurer.

Once you reach 300 pulls on the standard banner, you can choose one standard SSR. This works only once, and you pick from 10 SSR adventurers and Buddies.

Starter Banner: SSR Within 50

The starter banner is a standard banner you can pull only 50 times, and it guarantees a standard SSR within those 50 pulls. A 10-pull costs only 8 Standard Contracts. Because the SSR is guaranteed, spend your Standard Contracts here first.

Does Pity Carry Over?

PityDetails
SSR pity90 pulls (13,500 Rutacoin). Carries over between featured banners. 50% chance of the featured adventurer; if you miss, your next SSR is the featured one.
Featured pity120 pulls (18,000 Rutacoin). Doesn't carry over. Guarantees the featured adventurer, and applies only to your first featured adventurer on each banner.

There are two kinds of pity: one for SSRs and one for the featured adventurer. SSR pity, including whether you lost the 50/50, carries over between featured banners. If you lost the 50/50 on a past featured banner and haven't pulled an SSR since, your next SSR on a featured banner is the featured adventurer.

Featured and standard banners keep separate counts. Pulling on the standard banner doesn't count toward featured banner pity at all.

The 120-pull featured guarantee doesn't carry over. If you lose the 50/50 at 90 pulls, the extra 30 pulls to 120 lock in the featured adventurer, so it's usually worth going all the way to 120.

Gacha Rates

Every banner has the same base rates: 0.6% for SSR, 9.4% for SR, and 90% for R. What changes is how the SSR and SR rates split between adventurers and Buddies.

Tickets and Rutacoin

The featured banner and the standard banner use different tickets. You can get both from events and other rewards, or buy them for 150 Rutacoin each.

If you're spending Rutacoin, buy Featured Contracts. You'll make steady progress on the standard banner from rewards alone. Rutacoin is also used for things like energy refills, though, so think it over before you buy.
