Free pulls in Monster Hunter Outlanders come from two kinds of tickets: Standard Contracts for the starter and standard banners, and Featured Contracts for the featured banner. This guide lists the ways to get them, split into recurring sources and one-time rewards, plus how to exchange Rutacoin.

Part of this information comes from the closed beta, so some numbers may differ in the live game.

Standard vs Featured Contracts

There are two kinds of recruitment tickets, and each works on different banners. Standard Contracts are used on the starter banner and the standard banner. Featured Contracts are used on the featured banner, where the limited adventurers are. One ticket gives one pull. Recruitment unlocks when you clear the Chapter 1 story quest Where Adventurers Gather.

Recurring Sources (Weekly, Monthly, Seasonal)

These refill over time. We don't add up a monthly total, because the Bounty Contest exchange count, event rewards, and season length aren't known. From the weekly quest alone, you get about 4–5 Standard Contracts a month.

One-Time and Capped Sources

These are one-time rewards, or capped exchanges where it isn't known whether the cap resets. They add up to a lot of pulls, especially early on.

Exchanging Rutacoin and Supply Vouchers

ExchangeCost per contractLimit
Standard exchange9 Standard Supply Vouchers5 a month per contract
Special exchange50 Special Supply VouchersNo limit
Rutacoin exchange150 RutacoinNo limit

The shop's recruitment exchange offers both kinds of contracts. The Standard exchange is limited each month, so use it up every month. The Special and Rutacoin exchanges have no limit, and since they cost the same for either contract, we recommend taking Featured Contracts there so you can pull on the featured banner.

Tips for Using Your Contracts

  • The starter banner is a standard banner you can pull only 50 times, and it guarantees a standard SSR within those 50 pulls. A 10-pull costs only 8 Standard Contracts. Because the SSR is guaranteed, spend your Standard Contracts here first.
  • In the unlimited exchanges and the Rumbling Gear exchange, don't spend on Standard Contracts: Featured Contracts (and Buddies, in the gear exchange) are better value.
