About
Wanted meat seller who takes revenge if reported
The Butcher, a wanted man, sells meat of doubtful origin and comes back every week if you let him go. Reporting him raises your Lower Levels reputation, but a week later your shop is vandalized and he starts stalking you. Sawyer then offers a paid service to end it.

- SPrepare for this customer
- A seller of goods that are hard to get elsewhere, equipment, a reward or an unlock the specialization's route depends on, a deadline or branch to decide in advance, or a danger of major loss such as game over, arrest or confiscation makes advance preparation worthwhile. A high priority does not mean every purchase or report is recommended.
- AUseful in the right situation
- A main buyer of your goods, a seller of some of your inputs, a side income, optional input, reputation opportunity or conditional risk matters when the matching stock, branch or cash need exists. Check the condition before reserving scarce money or goods.
- BOrdinary response is enough
- The specialization does not normally depend on this customer's goods or outcome. Serve an appropriate incidental trade when the visitor comes without planning the business around it; a low priority does not remove legal or safety consequences.
Events
Quick summary
Reporting pays 450 and raises Lower Levels reputation by 6, unlike other wanted visitors.
But your shop is vandalized 7 days later and he starts stalking you
→going out after hours then needs a firearm or PulseGuard Stun Gun in your backpack. Paying Sawyer 500 ends it.
Spare him and he sells stolen meat cheaply every 7 days (inspections can confiscate it).
Visit 1
Name shown in the shop: Lower Level Citizen
- When
- From day 14 (day 5 if you chose Skip Intro), a wanted customer can come on any day, at most one a day. A visit is rare on the first day without one, but the chance rises with each further day without one, and once 16 days have passed without one, it is certain. The visitor is picked evenly from the candidates who have not come yet (7 at the start), so the fewer are left, the likelier it is to be this person. Known Snitch prevents this visit.
- What happens
- He offers a filled Satchel (Small), a Crowbar, a Raw Meat (Standard), 2 Raw Meat (Small) and an Animal Fat.
Choices
Complete a trade and let the visitor leave
- Buy or sell the listed goods under the usual budget and price rules. What you pay or receive depends on the deal; there is no fixed story reward.
- If spared, he returns every 7 days from the first conversation.
Let the visitor leave without a deal
- The visit ends with no deal and no bounty. Later visits listed for this person still follow their own conditions.
- If spared, he returns every 7 days from the first conversation.
Press Report and hear the plea or warning
Needs
- He has not pleaded or warned you before (this happens only once).
- The first time you press Report, the visitor pleads or warns you instead, and no report is made. You can then let them go or press Report again.
Report to Security (base bounty 450)
Needs
- You can report as long as you have not shot, and have not used Blackmail or Threaten on this visitor while bargaining. If your first press is met with a plea, press Report again.
- Reporting a wanted person is always valid: you get a 450-credit bounty and 5 Security reputation, and your reputation with the visitor's faction changes by +6 (before perk and difficulty adjustments).
- On the morning 7 days after his capture, your shop has been vandalized. 3 days later, a Meat Cleaver and a Handnote from him are left on your counter; while he stalks you, you can only go out after hours if the backpack you take holds a firearm or a PulseGuard Stun Gun.
Recommended response
If you want the 450 base bounty, plan for the retaliation before reporting: it also gives base Security reputation +5 and Lower Levels reputation +6. The shop is vandalized seven days after capture and the cleaver arrives three days later, after which going out needs a firearm or PulseGuard Stun Gun in your chosen backpack, even unloaded. Sparing him preserves weekly stolen-meat sales instead, while Sawyer later offers a 500 night service to end the stalking. A report is not a cost-free profit if you then have to buy that service. The first Report press only hears his warning; capture needs a later completed report.
Notes
- The first time you press Report (only once across all his visits), he warns you instead; press Report again to actually report him.
- Reputation numbers are before perk and difficulty adjustments (see the reputation rules).
Visit 2
Name shown in the shop: Lower Level Citizen
- When
- Every 7 days after you first met him, unless he has been captured. He always comes on those days. Known Snitch prevents this visit.
- What happens
- He sells stolen meat, with 20% off if you buy all of it (Wholesale), a smaller discount than on his first visit.

The repeat visit sells stolen meat with a 20% whole-offer discount, so buy only stock you can actually use or move safely. Notes
- He brings 0–3 Raw Meat (Standard), 1–3 Raw Meat (Small) and 0–2 Animal Fat. Each count starts at its lowest, and the chance of each extra item rises as the days pass, up to 100%.
- Reputation numbers are before perk and difficulty adjustments (see the reputation rules).
