Dragon Dance boosts Attack and Speed; signature Dragon Darts and Phantom Force attack as a physical attacker. Dragon Fang raises Dragon-move power, and Clear Body prevents opponents from lowering stats — that's the play.
Adapt Phantom Force per team
If Phantom Force is met with a Normal or Dark switch before damage, it can swing the matchup, so swap to Steel Wing depending on team. Draco Meteor KOs HC-Stamina Archaludon switched in vs. Dragon Darts.
Substitute counters walls
Against walls like Garganacl and Toxapex, Substitute blocks status moves and lets it dance multiple times. Face-off performance drops, so adopt when walls are heavy threats.
With high Speed, set up Dragon Dance from above and break the team with physical moves as an ace. Even vs. faster foes or priority moves, Sucker Punch flips the pin relationship — possible.
Shut down by Fairy + Normal cycles
DD Dragapult's only Fairy coverage is Phantom Force, so Floette + Snorlax combos shut it down. Also, Dragon Darts triggers Stamina twice. Pick opponents carefully when using this build.
Example Threats
Dragon Dance Baton
Bulk + Dragon Dance + Baton Pass to teammates.

Heavy HP EVs, Sitrus recovery + Dragon Dance + Baton Pass to teammates — Dragapult build. Clear Body prevents Intimidate stat drops for stable Baton Pass.
U-turn + Focus Sash is also an option
Swap Substitute/Sitrus for U-turn/Sash to gain Dark coverage and enable cycling. Also, shifting HP EVs to Speed is recommended.
Using high Speed for priority Substitute/Dragon Dance, pass Atk/Spe boosts to team acesas support. Self-STAB Dragon Darts multi-hit chips too — flexible play.
Weak to Fairy
No coverage vs. Fairy means nothing can be done. However, with Focus Sash, leverage Speed for Dragon Dance → Baton Passcan be connected — play wisely.
Example Threats
Sash Mixed Attacker
Sash + both physical and special moves.

A mixed matchup Dragapult build that leverages the held item's guaranteed turn, spreading status conditions while attacking with wide-coverage physical and special moves. Its Infiltrator Ability pierces opposing screens and Substitutes, and finishing weakened foes with priority moves is also strong.
Shadow Ball is also recommended as a Ghost-type move
Shadow Ball is also an option for Ghost-type moves. Though it falls short of Hex's max power, Deals consistent damage even when the opponent isn't statused。
The pivot move U-turn is also strong
Sucker Punch's slot can also be replaced with the pivot move U-turn. Useful for testing the waters or switching out of unfavorable matchups.
Thunder Wave and Curse are also candidates for support moves
Thunder Wave, which can lower Speed, and Curse, which is strong against setup-using Pokémon, are also candidates. When using Curse, Hex cannot reach its maximum power on its own, consider switching to Shadow Ball.
Comes in as the lead or after a faint, leveraging its inherent Speed and guaranteed turn to handle the matchup opponentis the role. It uses the Will-O-Wisp + Hex combo or multi-hit moves strong against opponents' Focus Sash, and also functions as a stopper.
Struggles against Fairy-type special attackers
Fairy-types that resist Dragon Darts and Sucker Punch are clearly unfavorable matchups. If the opponent is a special attacker, Will-O-Wisp is also less effective — switch out and handle them with backup Pokémon.
