Held Items work best when they match an Aniimo's skill set. Here are our picks for DPS, BREAK, REGEN, and Heal Aniimo, what each item's Core Effect does, and where to get Held Items.
How to Choose Held Items
When choosing a Held Item, look at how well it fits the Aniimo's skill set. From the mid game on, generalist Held Items are usually the best pick, because one item can be used across several teams and saves resources.
Higher-rarity Held Items give more stats, so prioritize raising those. The Fission Needles card below, with its yellow background, is an example of a high-rarity Held Item.

Best Held Items for DPS Aniimo
| Held Item | Core Effect and Best For |
|---|---|
| Fission Needles | Each basic attack has a 50% chance to deal double damage. Best for Aniimo that rely on basic attacks. |
| Echoing Grimoire | Using the same skill consecutively increases damage dealt by 5%, stacking up to 5 times for 25%. Strong on Aniimo that use the same skill often. |
| Capacitous Battery | Increases Ultimate damage by 30%. Strong but niche: best for Aniimo that rely on their Ultimate for damage. |
| Explosive Gloves | Increases Damage Amp by 5% for every 10 EP you currently have, so it peaks with a full EP bar. In theory the highest damage boost, but hard to keep up; best for teams with low EP use, such as Ultimate or basic attack teams. |
| Ferocious Fang | Equipped Aniimo gain 0.7 additional ATK per level. A generalist pick that works on most DPS Aniimo and one of the most cost-effective damage items. |
Which DPS item is best depends on how the Aniimo deals damage. Fission Needles suits Aniimo that rely on basic attacks, Echoing Grimoire suits Aniimo that repeat the same skill, and Capacitous Battery suits Aniimo that rely on their Ultimate. Explosive Gloves has the highest damage boost in theory but needs a full EP bar, so it fits teams with low EP use. If you're unsure, Ferocious Fang is a safe generalist pick: it works on most DPS Aniimo and is one of the most cost-effective damage items.
Best Held Items for BREAK Aniimo
| Held Item | Core Effect and Best For |
|---|---|
| Gargantuan Horn | Equipped Aniimo gain 0.7 additional BREAK per level. A generalist pick that works on most BREAK Aniimo and one of the most cost-effective BREAK items. |
| Avenging Gear | Taking damage grants a Counter Mark, which increases your next BREAK damage by 30%. Best for BREAK Aniimo that stay on the field for a long time or have skills that reward getting hit. |
For most BREAK Aniimo, Gargantuan Horn is the safe choice: it's a generalist and one of the most cost-effective BREAK items. Pick Avenging Gear instead when the Aniimo stays on the field for a long time or has skills that reward getting hit, because its Counter Mark comes from taking damage.
Best Held Items for REGEN Aniimo
| Held Item | Core Effect and Best For |
|---|---|
| Spirited Feather | Equipped Aniimo gain 0.7 additional REGEN per level. A generalist pick that works on most REGEN Aniimo and one of the most cost-effective REGEN items. |
Spirited Feather is our only REGEN pick. It isn't always the single best option, but it works on most REGEN Aniimo and is one of the most cost-effective REGEN items.
Best Held Items for Heal Aniimo
| Held Item | Core Effect and Best For |
|---|---|
| Miraculous Fleece | Transfers 10% of the target's excess healing to the Aniimo with the lowest HP percentage. Works best on teams that don't stay on their Heal Aniimo for long, so the excess healing can go to your DPS. |
Miraculous Fleece is recommended because it keeps part of your excess healing from going to waste by passing it to the Aniimo with the lowest HP percentage. It works best when you don't stay on your Heal Aniimo for long, so the healing can reach your DPS.
How to Get Held Items
Held Items drop from certain Alpha Challenges. Open Institute Guide, go to Aniimo Challenge, and select Alpha Challenge (Held Item) to see which Alphas drop Held Items and what they give. Each item card also lists Defeat Alphas and Chest under How to Obtain.
