How to Get Alpha Aniimo

  1. Find the Alpha on your map

Check your map for Alpha locations. Undiscovered Alphas are usually marked on the map with an icon once you have interacted with that area's Bloom. You can also track an undiscovered Alpha's location from its tab in the Aniimo Challenges section.

  2. Check its weaknesses

Select the Alpha on the map to open its details panel. The Recommended Aniimo section lists Highly Recommended and Not Recommended Elements, so you can plan your team before the fight. You can also check which Elements an Aniimo is weak to during battle.

  3. Defeat the Alpha and catch it

After you defeat an Alpha, you can try to catch it with an Aniipod. Each attempt costs 30 Primegy. Alphas have low catch rates, so bring an Aniipod Ultra or a Sparkling Cube if you want to guarantee the catch: both showed a 100% catch rate. Otherwise, expect to need several attempts.

Some areas of the map only open once you've offered a total of 120 Lumin Amber to the Branch. The Aniimo icons in those areas don't appear when the area opens. They show up when you actually go there. Alpha Geoclaw and Alpha Minespine are in areas like this.

What Are Alpha Aniimo?

Alpha Aniimo look larger than the regular version of the same Aniimo. While you're Twined with an Alpha, though, it appears at regular size, and it goes back to its larger size when you leave the Twine.

Alphas also come with an upgraded Core Skill. A regular Aniimo needs its exclusive contract Held Item equipped to activate the enhancement, but an Alpha has it without one.
