Fentufts and the Nimbi Walkthrough

Fentufts and the Nimbi is a Journey Quest in The Legend of Driftwise Meadow series. This guide walks through every objective in order, from earning Joyous Tuftballs in the Reach peak cheerfulness! tasks to making the Bittersweet Bloom blossom with the Melancholic Fluff.

How to Start the Quest

This Journey Quest belongs to The Legend of Driftwise Meadow series and takes place in Driftwise Meadow.

The quest starts from the clue "A Sorrowful Cloud?" Approach the group of Fentufts gathered in front of a sad Nimbi to unlock it.

The clue's marker shows up on the map inside Driftwise Meadow, the Lv. 51 to 56 area.

Quest Rewards

The Fentufts Are Picking on a Nimbi?

For the first objective, approach the marked Fentufts to start the conversation.

If you aren't Twined with a Fentuft-family Aniimo, the game prompts you to Twine with one first so you can understand what the Fentufts are saying.

Reach Peak Cheerfulness: All 3 Tasks

The second objective asks you to Twine with a Fentuft-family Aniimo and then "Reach peak cheerfulness! [0/3]". Clear the tasks at the 3 marked locations to earn 3 Joyous Tuftballs.

You can do the tasks in any order.

1. Meticulous Fentuft: Snuggle the Sad Nimbi

   Speak with the Meticulous Fentuft, then select "Snuggle" on the Sad Nimbi next to it. The Sad Nimbi runs away, so follow it to its new spot and select "Snuggle" again. Repeat until it cheers up, and you receive a Joyous Tuftball.

2. Excited Fentuft: Tuftball Super Rush

   Speak with the Excited Fentuft to start the Tuftball Super Rush parkour challenge. Starting from the leftmost Tuftball, use Scurry to jump from top to top across every Tuftball in sequence. Reach the final Tuftball to complete the challenge and receive a Joyous Tuftball.

3. Helpful Fentuft: Activate the Springy Tuftball

   Speak with the Helpful Fentuft. Two Springy Tuftballs sit side by side, and you only need to use Scurry on 1 of them to activate it and receive a Joyous Tuftball.

The Excited Fentuft warns that if you touch the ground, you have to start over, so stay on top of the Tuftballs the whole way.

Big One and the Bittersweet Bloom

1. Chat with the Fentuft Inspector

   Go to the marked location and talk to the Fentuft Inspector to learn about the "Big One".

2. Spread happiness to Big One

   Approach the large Bittersweet Bloom next to the Inspector, select "Pass on the joy.", and deliver 1 Joyous Tuftball. The story then shows the line "You use up all the joyous tuftballs, but nothing happens to the bittersweet bloom..."

3. Find out why the Bittersweet Bloom won't blossom

   Head to the marked location and inspect the research notes on Bittersweet Blooms.

4. An unhappy existence?

   Speak with the Sad Nimbi at the marked location to get the Melancholic Fluff.

5. Offer the Melancholic Fluff

   Return to the Bittersweet Bloom and offer the Melancholic Fluff to make it blossom.

Pick Up the Bittersweet Dew

Once the Bittersweet Bloom here in Driftwise Meadow blossoms, pick up the Bittersweet Dew it drops. You need it for the Journey Quest "A Fragrant Journey: Driftwise Meadow".

The item description calls it dew gathered from bittersweet blooms and says the perfumer Fantine is searching for it in Driftwise Meadow.

Finishing the Quest

The final objective is "What's the true meaning of happiness?" Speak with the Fentuft Inspector and finish the conversation to complete the Journey Quest.
