Fists I is a Journey Quest in Beast Fang Ridge where Icho, the Scorchhowl beside Dr. Lewis, asks you to discover what fighting truly means. This guide covers how it unlocks during Warrior, every objective in order, and the rewards.
How to Unlock Fists I
Fists I unlocks during Day 1 of the Journey Quest Warrior in Beast Fang Ridge.
- Find the Fragrant Emberpup
On Day 1 of Warrior, the optional objective "[Optional] Find the Fragrant Emberpup." appears. Talk to the Fragrant Emberpup, then follow the quest marker to where it hides behind a rock in Beast Fang Ridge and talk to it again.
- Answer Dr. Lewis's call
Dr. Lewis then calls to say that Icho wants to see you. Answer the call, and the Journey Quest Fists I unlocks.
This is how Fists I unlocked in our playthrough. We haven't checked whether it can also be unlocked another way.

The Fists I Clue
On the map, Fists I shows up as the Clue "The True Meaning of the Warrior". It says the clues to the true meaning of the warrior and to Icho's past are hidden in Beast Fang Ridge, and BINI #9's tip is to progress "The Warrior".

Fists I Walkthrough
- Talk to Icho at the Outpost
For "The Icho's Request?", go to the Outpost in Breezy Plains and talk to Icho, the Scorchhowl standing beside Dr. Lewis. Teleporting to the Outpost waypoint is the fastest way, but you can also walk, ride, or fly there. Icho asks you to discover what fighting truly means.
- Complete Warrior
For "Explore Beast Fang Ridge to find the meaning of the Warrior.", you need to finish the whole Journey Quest Warrior in Beast Fang Ridge. Until you do, the Log says "Go to Beast Fang Ridge and complete the prerequisite quest: Warrior."
- Return to Icho
Once Warrior is complete, the objective "Discuss the Meaning of Battle with the Icho." appears. Go back to the Outpost and talk to Icho again. When the conversation ends, Fists I is complete and you receive the rewards.
How to Finish the Warrior Prerequisite
Warrior can't be finished in one sitting. Because of the daily reset, it takes 3 real-time days to complete.
The Fists I Log shows the tip "Try progressing the quest "The Fighter" first." This refers to Warrior: once Warrior is complete, you can continue Fists I.
