Flowers and Thorns - Rosetower Wood is a Journey Quest in Rosetower Woods that takes you into the Maze of Thorns to uncover a Budsquire family secret. Here's how to start it, how to get past the guard, where to find each Tale, and what finishing it unlocks.

How to Unlock Flowers and Thorns - Rosetower Wood

The quest starts from the Clue "A Great Menace?", shown as a lightbulb icon on the map. Its details wonder why a Budsquire seems to have run away from Rosetower Woods, and end with "A group of wretched Budsquires?"

Talk to the Angry Budsquire near the entrance of Rosetower Woods to start the quest. You don't need to finish the Flowers and Thorns - Sea of Flowers Journey Quest first.

Bring a Budsquire. You need to Twine with it to get through the Maze of Thorns.

Flowers and Thorns - Rosetower Wood is a Journey Quest in The Legend of Flowers and Thorns series, set in Rosetower Woods. Its Log entry says a maze of thorns lies in the eastern part of Rosetower Woods, with a secret of the Budsquire family somewhere inside.

Flowers and Thorns - Rosetower Wood Walkthrough

1. Sneak into the Maze of Thorns

   For the first objective, "Explore the legend of Flowers and Thorns in the Maze of Thorns.", enter the Maze of Thorns and Twine with a Budsquire before you approach the Sharp Thornblade blocking the passage. See the next section for details.

2. Defeat the First Lethal Thorn

   For "Defeat the First Lethal Thorn.", beat the First Lethal Thorn in a single battle inside the maze. It's level 23, so it shouldn't take much preparation. A conversation follows the battle.

3. Talk to Princess Melloblum

   For "Princess Melloblum seems to know you…?", talk to Princess Melloblum. She tells you she can no longer perform the "Dance of Blissful Bloom."

4. Collect the three Maze of Thorns Tales

   For "Discover why the Melloblum can no longer dance.", visit the three marked spots in the Maze of Thorns and collect a Maze of Thorns Tale at each. Where to find each one is covered below.

5. Return to Princess Melloblum

   Bring all three Tales back to Princess Melloblum and talk to her. The quest is complete when the conversation ends.

How to Get Past the Sharp Thornblade

The Sharp Thornblade guards a passage in the Maze of Thorns. You can only get past it while Twined with a Budsquire.

If you walk up in your normal form or Twined with another Aniimo, you're spotted. The screen shows "You are spotted and quickly slip into a quiet corner..." and you're sent back to the start of that hallway.

Where to Find the Maze of Thorns Tales

The fourth objective sends you to three marked spots in the Maze of Thorns. You can collect the Tales in any order.

1. Maze of Thorns Tale 3: Patrolling Thornblade

   Talk to the Patrolling Thornblade inside the maze to receive Maze of Thorns Tale 3.

   
2. Maze of Thorns Tale 2: Bedraggled Budsquire

   The Bedraggled Budsquire sits on top of a maze wall, looking out past the border. Climb up and talk to it to receive Maze of Thorns Tale 2.

   
3. Maze of Thorns Tale 4: Elderly Thornblade

   Talk to the Elderly Thornblade to receive Maze of Thorns Tale 4.

   

Getting Around the Maze

You can climb the walls and glide over obstacles to move through the maze faster. Don't climb walls covered in large thorns: touching them makes you fall right away.

What Finishing the Quest Unlocks

Finishing the quest removes the huge thorn vines blocking the entrance to Whiterose Tower. You need this to enter the tower and progress A Fragrant Journey: Rosetower Woods.
