Secret of the Golden Helmet is a hidden Journey Quest in Russet Highlands where you sneak a Golden Helmet away from Devoted Helmut. Here's where to start it, how to get past Devoted Helmut unseen, and what completing it unlocks.

How to Unlock Secret of the Golden Helmet

Secret of the Golden Helmet is a hidden Journey Quest that isn't listed with your other quests. It has no prerequisite quest.

To start it, go straight to its location in Russet Highlands: west of the First Sight Sanctum, next to the giant tree, at map coordinates -0607, 1630.

Secret of the Golden Helmet Walkthrough

  1. Find Devoted Helmut and the Golden Helmet

    At the quest location, Devoted Helmut is guarding a Golden Helmet on the ground. If you reach for the helmet without hiding, Devoted Helmut stops you and the screen reads: "Do! Not! Go! Near! The! Golden! Helmet! Don't think Helmut doesn't know you're all trying to steal it!"

  2. Twine with an Aniimo That Can Turn Invisible

    To get close without being spotted, Twine with an Aniimo that has an invisibility skill. We used Gracewing's Luminous Prowl. Flutternym is another Aniimo with Luminous Prowl, and Cloak is another invisibility skill that Wisptis, Ignitis, and Fulmintis have, though not necessarily in every form. We haven't tested Cloak on this quest.

  3. Sneak the Golden Helmet Away

    Turn invisible, get past Devoted Helmut without being noticed, and choose "Sneak it away!" at the Golden Helmet.

  4. Catch the Timberline Form Helmut

    Once you take the Golden Helmet, BINI #9 says: "So it was the Timberline Form Helmut causing all the fuss! Hurry and catch it!" Catch the Timberline Form Helmut that appears on the spot.

No Quest Complete pop-up appears when you catch it. After the catch, Timberline Form Helmut and Rookey start appearing in the world.

Secret of the Golden Helmet Rewards

Completing Secret of the Golden Helmet doesn't give items, EXP, or currency. Instead, it unlocks two Timberline Form Aniimo in Russet Highlands, so you can find and catch them in the wild:
