Bow Features
High sustained damage from the right range
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
The Bow is a mobile weapon that fights from mid to long range, dealing high sustained damage while keeping its distance from the monster. Outlanders also has auto-aim assistance, so you can reliably hit weak points.
Too far away and your damage drops
Ranged weapons like the Bow have an optimal range. If you're too far from the monster, your damage drops, so close the distance when you get an opening and adjust your spacing flexibly.
Charge levels raise your damage
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Every shot of Rapid Fire or Power Shot raises the charge level by one, up to 4, and holding Basic Attack charges it up too. Slide Shot fires while keeping the current charge level. As the charge level rises, the Bow glows and each skill fires more arrows with more power.
Unleash Dragon Barrage: Rain when the dragon vial gauge is full
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
The dragon vial energy shown above your health bar charges as your attacks hit. With the gauge full, Skill 3 spends all of it to unleash Dragon Barrage: Rain for big damage.
TipDragon Barrage: Rain's damage isn't affected by the charge level.

How to Play the Bow
- Shoot from the optimal range
- Keep your distance with Slide Shot
- Close in for Power Shot when you have an opening
- Deal damage with Dragon Barrage: Rain when the monster is down
- Counter right after a Perfect Evade
- Luka and Madelyn play differently
Shoot from the optimal range
The key to playing the Bow is shooting from the optimal range. Shots from the optimal range deal more damage, and damage drops sharply outside it. When you aim, the reticle shows whether you're in the optimal range, so keep an eye on it at all times.
TipThe skill Ballistics shortens the distance your arrows need to reach maximum power.
Keep your distance with Slide Shot
Input: Basic AttackSkill 1 ↻ repeat
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Low-risk play built around Skill 1, Slide Shot, is strong with the Bow. Especially while you're still learning a monster's moves, keep your distance with Slide Shot and deal steady damage by hitting breakable parts and weak points.
Slide Shot has invulnerability
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
The step part of Slide Shot has invulnerability frames, so it can dodge attacks. However, it doesn't count as a Perfect Evade, so when you can dodge reliably, a regular evade, which pays off more, is the better pick. Switch between them to suit the situation.
Mix in Basic Attack to save stamina
With the Bow, most of the Fated Adventurer's actions use stamina. Using Skill 1 over and over runs it out quickly, so mix in Basic Attack to keep your stamina use down.
TipThe Insight Martial Harmony cuts the stamina use of Rapid Fire, Power Shot, and Slide Shot by 50% and extends their effective range by 50%.
Close in for Power Shot when you have an opening
Input: Skill 1Skill 2
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
When the monster is dazed by a flash or open after a big attack, rush in with Skill 1 and go for Skill 2, Power Shot. Power Shot fires many arrows at once in a horizontal spread, and the closer you are to the monster, the more damage it can deal.
Chain Power Shot while keeping your charge level
Input: Skill 1Basic AttackSkill 2 ↻ repeat Dotted keys are optional.
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Once you're used to the Bow, chain Power Shot while keeping your charge level up. Power Shot's recovery can be canceled with Slide Shot, so the ideal is to keep adjusting your distance as you go. If your charge level is already high enough, you can skip Basic Attack.
Deal damage with Dragon Barrage: Rain when the monster is down
Input: Skill 3 (dragon vial energy full)
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Dragon Barrage: Rain takes a while to land all of its hits. Use it when the monster is downed or paralyzed so more arrows hit for higher damage.
TipAgainst large monsters, aiming at the body rather than the weak point can sometimes deal more damage.
Counter right after a Perfect Evade
Input: Perfect EvadeBasic Attack
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
After a successful Perfect Evade, tap Basic Attack to fire Piercing Shot, a single piercing arrow. Depending on the monster, it can hit up to 5 times, charging dragon vial energy with each hit, so you can turn a dodge straight into a strong counter.
Luka and Madelyn play differently
Skills differ between adventurers, so the basic playstyle and controls change too. Luka and Madelyn have different damage skills and phial effects, so play to suit the adventurer you're using (see Bow Adventurers).

Slide Shot → Power Shot loop
Input: Skill 1Basic AttackSkill 2 ↻ repeat Dotted keys are optional.
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
The core Bow combo. Slide Shot repositions you while keeping the charge level, Basic Attack raises it, and Power Shot fires 3 to 6 arrows depending on the charge level, then raises it by one. If your charge level is already high enough, you can skip Basic Attack.
Slide Shot → charged-up Power Shot
Input: Basic AttackSkill 1Basic AttackSkill 2
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Weave Basic Attack in before Power Shot to raise the charge level, so Power Shot fires more arrows (up to 6 at charge level 4).
Piercing Shot
Input: Perfect EvadeBasic Attack
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
After a Perfect Evade, tap Basic Attack to fire Piercing Shot. The arrow pierces, hitting up to 5 times depending on the monster and charging dragon vial energy with each hit.
Fastest charge level 4 Arc Shot
Input: Basic Attack (hold)Skill 3
The footage is from the Japanese version of the game.
Hold Basic Attack to charge straight up to charge level 4, then use Skill 3 for Arc Shot, which rains down 40 arrows at charge level 4. When dragon vial energy is full, Skill 3 fires Dragon Barrage: Rain instead.

Fated Adventurer (Bow)
The moves in this guide are the Fated Adventurer's. The Fated Adventurer can choose any type, and the Ultimate changes with it. The element comes from the weapon, so you can pick from the Bows above to match the monster's weakness. For the Insights to take, see Best Weapon Tier List.
Fated Adventurer (Bow) Abilities & Stats
Luka
Luka's Rapid Fire fires piercing arrows that can hit more times at higher charge levels, and Slide Shot raises the charge level by one while charging electric phial energy. Skill 2, Arc Drift, is a fast arcing dash that charges phial energy; tap Skill 2 again to stop and fire an arrow that pierces 6 times and raises the charge level. Skill 3, Swift Volley, spends phial energy to fire two piercing arrows at once. After a Perfect Evade, Boltstep Counter fires automatically and, on hit, raises the charge level to the max.
Madelyn
Madelyn fights by building up spores on the monster. Skill 3, Spore Adhesion, fires a phial that attaches spores, and Skill 2, Catalyst Burst, spends a phial and raises the spore level by 1 with each hit, up to 10. Hold Skill 1 for Detonating Shot, which detonates the spores for damage that grows with the spore level. Hitting with Detonating Shot at spore level 10 powers up Skill 2 into Enhanced Catalyst Burst, which raises the charge level each time you use it. The Ultimate, Stellar Injection, heals every adventurer in range and keeps healing them for 10 seconds.
Teams and Buddies for Luka and Madelyn
In the Luka team in Best Team Comps and Party Guide, Madelyn can replace Haze as a Support who can heal. Luka's best Buddy is Pipa (Buddy Tier List: Best Buddies). For Madelyn's build priority and SR teams, see Best SR Adventurers for F2P.
