Sanctums are puzzle structures scattered across Idyll's Vein that reward Lumin Amber once you restore them. Here's how to spot one, unlock it, and clear it, solo or with a friend.

What Is a Sanctum?

Sanctums are structures built by the Ancient Idyllians to repair the transmission of Vein energy, and they're scattered throughout Idyll's Vein.

How to Find a Sanctum

You can locate a region's Sanctum by activating a Branch, which clears the fog of war in the surrounding area. Once the area is revealed, open the Map and look for the Sanctum icon.

How to Unlock and Enter a Sanctum

  1. Activate the entrance
    Interact with the Sanctum entrance for the first time to activate it. This unlocks its Teleport location on the Map.
  2. Enter the Sanctum
    Interact with the entrance again to enter the Sanctum.

Sanctum Mechanics: Puzzles, Chests, and the Tesseract

The main objective inside a Sanctum is to solve puzzles, collect chests, and activate the Tesseract to restore the Vein, all while using an Aniimo.

You can't use or deploy your own Aniimo while inside a Sanctum. Instead, you activate and Twine with the sealed Aniimo found within it to progress through the area and solve its puzzles.

Sanctum Rewards

Once the Tesseract is activated and the Vein is restored, you're rewarded with Lumin Amber.

Can You Clear a Sanctum With Friends?

While many Sanctums can be completed solo, some require 2 players and feature cooperative mechanics. You can team up with another player through matchmaking or by inviting a friend.

For example, the Sanctum: Lightning Gale challenge dungeon requires exactly 2 players. If you queue without a full team, it fills the remaining slot through matchmaking once you start.
