Spend a Skill Point walkthrough: open the Skills window with H, unlock a skill with Space, learn how to get Skill Points, and reset them at the Flame Altar.

How to Complete Spend a Skill Point
The Journal says Skill Points can be spent in the Skill Tree: open the Skill Tree and spend a Skill Point to obtain new abilities.

Open the Skills window
Press H on your keyboard to open the Skills window, which shows the Skill Tree.

Unlock a skill
Select a skill node and use Space to unlock it.

Check the quest
In our playthrough, we unlocked Merciless Attack, Double Jump and Dexterity, closed the Skills window, and QUEST COMPLETED! Spend A Skill Point appeared back in the game.

How to Use Skill Points
Press H on your keyboard to open the Skills window. Select a skill node to see its description, then use Space to unlock it.
The top left of the Skills window shows how many Skill Points are in use and how many are available. In our playthrough, unlocking Merciless Attack with 7 points available left 2 in use and 5 available.

The table shows the Skill Points each skill needed in our playthrough, so the number needed differs from skill to skill. Unlocking the Dexterity node raised the Dexterity attribute from 0 to 1.
How to Get Skill Points

In our playthrough, farming Skill Points by defeating regular enemies while exploring the map earned XP much more slowly than defeating bosses and destroying Shroud Roots.
How to Destroy Shroud Roots
Shroud Roots in higher-level areas can be hard to reach, because high-level enemies are sometimes guarding them.
In our clip, QUEST COMPLETED! Clear The Elixir Well appeared right after the Shroud Root was destroyed.
How to Reset Skill Points (Reskill)
Interact with a Flame Altar and choose Reskill to change your skills and get your spent Skill Points back in exchange for Runes.
