This guide covers how to fight Radiant monsters in Radiant Rage, their frenzy-like enraged state, and hard monsters in high-difficulty quests in Monster Hunter Outlanders: how to handle the rage, which adventurers and Buddies can stop a monster, how to prepare, and recommended teams (as of November 2, 2026). For what Radiant monsters are and what they drop, see Radiant Monsters.
How to Handle Radiant Rage
Radiant Rage changes some of a Radiant monster's attack patterns. Here's what to keep in mind:

- Break the Radiant weak part to end Radiant Rage. A successful break also knocks the monster down.
- Use lock-on to hit the part. It changes color during the rage, so it's easy to spot.
- After a while the monster goes back into Radiant Rage and the part grows back, so you can break it again.
- Stopping the monster from moving makes the part easier to hit and cuts the damage you take. The next section lists who can do it.

Photos of each step and the armor set bonuses that work better on Radiant monsters are in Radiant Monsters.
Adventurers and Buddies That Stop Monsters
These Ultimates and Buddy skills daze, paralyze, or suppress the monster, according to their in-game descriptions. Use them while it's in Radiant Rage to break the Radiant part more easily.
Ultimates That Stop Monsters
| Adventurer | Ultimate | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Fated Adventurer | Ultimate (Disruptor) | Daze / Knocks flying monsters down / Suppression |
| Pepper | Fluffy, Attack! | Paralyzed / Suppression |
| Keres | Bone Frenzy | Suppression |
| Raya | Berserker Dance | Suppression |
| Luxheart | Heating Up | Daze / Suppression |
The Fated Adventurer's Ultimate depends on the type you pick; the table shows the Disruptor type. See Weapon Tier List for more.
Buddy Ultimates That Stop Monsters
| Skill | Effect | Buddies |
|---|---|---|
| Rutaco's Shackling Turret | Paralyzed | Nako, Boomie |
| Rutaco's Rocket Plan | Daze | Falee Hendsom, Sand Echo, Mac, Wolfe |
Both are Buddy Ultimates with the Disrupt tag. Ratings for every Buddy are in the Buddy Tier List.
Preparing for High-Difficulty Quests
Apex Weapons' special effects only work in the Apex Challenge, the Monster Challenge, and limited-time field challenge events. Here's how to prepare for high-difficulty quests:
- Craft Apex Weapons. How to get and upgrade them is in Apex Weapons.
- Match the monster's weak element. For hard runs, recraft an Apex Weapon in the monster's weak element each time. Weaknesses are on each monster's page in the Monster List.
- Use a strong build. The best weapon and armor for each weapon type are in Best Builds.
Recommended Teams
These are the four teams from our Best Teams article. Swap candidates and how to play each team are on that page.
| Team | Members | Strengths |
|---|---|---|
| Midori team |
| Fills the Spirit Gauge easily with burst damage and evasion, and stacks damage buffs from several adventurers. Wants Ryunosuke for fire support |
| Pepper team |
| Built cheaply from standard and low-rarity adventurers; Haze can be bought in the Adventurers' Guild Shop. The team centers on Pepper, who attacks freely while airborne |
| Luka team |
| A thunder-focused team that attacks from range while evading. Some attacks pierce, so mind your attack angle |
| Arkaya team | A tough dragon team that stacks dragon buffs and heals and supports while shields keep damage down. The same team works with Pyro as your main |
Disruptor adventurers and Buddies have many debuffs, such as dazing the monster, so they help when you need to stop it. How to combine types is in Best Teams.
