Monster Hunter Outlanders is on the App Store and Google Play, but it comes in two versions: the global version from Level Infinite and the Garena version. Which one you can download depends on the country of your store account, and the two use separate servers and accounts. This page shows which version covers each region, how to install it, what to check when the game doesn't show up in the store, and why unofficial APKs are a bad idea.

Both are Monster Hunter Outlanders, but they are separate apps run by different publishers. The store only shows the version for the country set on your Apple Account or Google Play profile, so you can't choose between them. For example, Spain and Portugal get the global version while Mexico and Brazil get the Garena version, so players in those countries end up on different servers.

As of November 3, 2026, neither version is listed on the App Store in mainland China, India, Vietnam, Russia or Belgium. The mainland China version is separate and is scheduled for 2027 or later.

How to Download

  1. Check which version covers your country in the table above.
  2. Open the App Store or Google Play on your phone and search for Monster Hunter Outlanders. Some stores show the name in the local language: モンスターハンターアウトランダーズ in Japan, 몬스터헌터 아웃랜더스 in Korea, and 魔物獵人:旅人 in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
  3. Check that the developer is Level Infinite or Garena Online Private Ltd / Limited, then install it. The game downloads more data after the store download (iOS: about 20 GB / Android: about 16 GB in total), so free up space first.
  4. Open the game, sign in, and choose your server. Pick the one you'll play on long term, because your character can't be moved to another server later.

Servers and Accounts by Region

Each version has its own servers: the global version has North America, Japan and Europe servers, and the Garena version has Korea, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa and Latin America servers. The rules for servers and accounts are:

  • Server data is separate for each region and can't be transferred.
  • You can't team up, send friend requests or join the same guild across servers. To play with friends, create your character on the same server.
  • Global and Garena accounts are separate, so progress doesn't carry over between the two versions.
  • You can sign in to the same account on another device, but not on two devices at the same time.

The global version lets you sign in with a Level Infinite Account (email), Google, X, Apple, Facebook, LINE or Discord. If you aren't sure which server to choose, pick the one your friends play on first, then the one closest to you.

Are Events and Codes the Same?

The game itself is the same, but each publisher runs its own campaigns. The Garena version has launch events of its own, such as a guild event, while the global version runs web events on its official site. Event schedules, gift codes and store prices can differ between the two.

The events and codes on this site are for the global version. If you play the Garena version, also check Garena's official site and the in-game notices.

Not Available in Your Country?

If Monster Hunter Outlanders doesn't show up in the store, or the store says it isn't available in your country, check the following.

  • Your country isn't covered: neither version is on the App Store in mainland China, India, Vietnam, Russia or Belgium.
  • Your store account is set to another country: the store shows apps for the country of your Apple Account or Google Play profile, not the country you are in right now.
  • Your device is below the minimum specs: Google Play may hide the game or mark it as not compatible. Official minimum: Android – Android 9 or later, Snapdragon 835 or Dimensity 920 or better, 4 GB of RAM or more; iPhone – iOS 15 or later, iPhone 8 Plus or later, 3 GB of RAM or more.
  • You are searching for a different name: in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau the store shows the local name (see step 2 above).

For the recommended specs, see:

Unofficial APKs and VPNs

Both versions are distributed through the App Store and Google Play. Installing an APK from another site to get around a region lock comes with these risks:

  • The file may have been tampered with. A modified app can steal the Google, Apple or other account you sign in with.
  • You won't get automatic updates. After an update, an old version may not be able to connect until you find and install the new one.
  • You may end up with the version for another region, on servers far from you and away from friends in your country.

The global version's User Agreement also lets the publisher limit the service depending on where you are, and lists mods, hacks, communication redirects and tunneling among the things players agree not to use. Getting around a region lock with an APK or a VPN can put your account at risk, so download the version for your own country from the store.

Store availability is based on the App Store as of November 3, 2026. Server and account rules are from each publisher's official announcements.
