A Perfect Evade in Monster Hunter Outlanders is an evade timed just before a monster's attack lands. Landing one lets many adventurers unleash a follow-up attack or get another bonus, and it triggers the Squadmate Skill of Disruptor squadmates. Here is how to time it, what it gives you, and how to practice it. Info as of November 6, 2026.

How to Perfect Evade

Tap Evade Just Before the Attack Hits

A Perfect Evade: the hunter slips past a monster's attack just before it lands

Unlike a normal evade, a Perfect Evade triggers when you tap Evade right before a monster's attack hits you. It works not only on attacks but also on actions like roars.

Where the Evade Button Is Depends on the Control Mode

The Evade button only appears during combat, not while exploring, and its position differs between Adventure mode and Classic mode.

Tips for Practicing Perfect Evades

Too Early Is a Normal Evade, Too Late Gets You Hit

Perfect EvadeNormal evade
A Perfect Evade: the hunter slips past a monster's attack just before it landsA missed Perfect Evade: the hunter only does a normal roll

The key is to evade right before the monster's attack lands. Evade too early and you only get a normal evade, too late and the attack hits you, so you need to learn each monster's moves.

Learn Each Monster's Attacks

Every monster has different moves and a different body size, so the timing changes from attack to attack. Roars also have their own range and timing. Fight the same monster repeatedly until you know when each attack connects.

Set Monster Attack Warnings to Enhancement

Settings, Features tab: Monster Attack Warnings set to Enhancement

Monster Attack Warnings make a monster flash red when an attack is coming. Open the menu and go to Settings → Features → Monster Attack Warnings, then pick Enhancement to make evading easier. Don't evade the moment it flashes red, though: keep watching the monster's movement and evade when the attack is about to land.
